WENATCHEE, Wash. - The Wenatchee Wild have announced a trade with the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League (WHL), sending 2005-born defenseman Ashton Cumby to Seattle for a sixth-round selection in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft.

A native of Bonnyville, Alberta, Cumby is in his second full season of Western Hockey League play, accumulating 95 WHL appearances thus far for the Wild and the former Winnipeg ICE. He played 55 games last season for the ICE in his first full season in the league, and remained with the organization through its relocation to Wenatchee this past offseason.

The Wenatchee Wild sincerely thank Ashton Cumby for all of his contributions to the team and organization, and wish him all future success on and off the ice.
