Wenatchee Fire News Release

WENATCHEE - December 8, 2010 - Wenatchee Fire is set to take to the Sportsplex for their 2010 Home Opener Saturday, December 11 at 7:05. After kicking off their Professional Arena Soccer League campaign on the road with two difficult losses, the Fire looks to turn their luck around as they host familiar rival Whatcom Soccer Academy Rapids.

This year's roster is highlighted by the return of defender Juan Barboza, leading scorer from last season and Wenatchee Valley College Head Coach Garret Brown, as well as new keeper Matt Stalnik of Alaska who played with Wenatchee before going on to play at Evergreen State College and professionally with the PASL-Pro's Denver Dynamite.

"Our boys are ready to go. We've been practicing hard, and the home crowd is always a game-changer," said General Manager/Head Coach Mike Osborn.

In the current economy, the Fire looks to remain accessible to the entire community. To wit, the organization recently announced ticket prices at $5 for youth and $7 for adults. As always, children 5 and younger are free.

"We look to remain an affordable option for everyone in the Wenatchee Valley, and I think we've accomplished this with our ticket prices this season," said Owner Albert Rookard.

Season and single game tickets are now on sale at the Sportsplex located at the bottom of Fifth Street. Fans can keep up to date with the squad as they prepare for this exciting season at facebook.com/wenatcheefirefc and wvsportsplex.com.

Wenatchee Fire is in its eighth arena soccer season, participating in the Frontier Division of the Professional Arena Soccer League. The team has acquired two previous division championships and plays out of the Wenatchee Valley Sportsplex located at the bottom of Fifth Street in Wenatchee, Washington. Both the Sportsplex and Wenatchee Fire are owned by CORA Sports, LLC.

The FIFRA-sanctioned Professional Arena Soccer League is in its 3rd season, including teams from Mexico, United States, and Canada, resulting in the first international arena soccer experience.
