Pulaski, VA - The Mariners couldn't avoid the big inning for the second consecutive day with the Johnson City Cardinals scoring five runs in the fourth inning on their way to a 9-2 victory.

Stephen Ramos led the game off for the Cardinals with a lead-off walk. He would later score the first run of the game on a sacrifice fly by David Bergin. The Mariners would answer back in the bottom of the first with Jamal Austin scoring on an RBI groundout by third baseman Jean Acevedo to tie the game at 1-1.

It was all Johnson City from there with the Cardinals scoring eight combined runs in the fourth and fifth inning. The Cardinals tallied five runs on six hits in the fourth inning, with David Washington starting the inning off with a lead-off double. He along with the three following batters would score in the inning, as Johnson City would bat around their whole lineup in the fourth.

Stephen Ramos went 4-5 and Jesus Montero went 2-4 at the plate for the Cardinals, both scoring two runs. Jamal Austin went 1-3 with a run and a stolen base for the Mariners.

Tyrell Jenkins was in control all night on the mound for the Cardinals throwing six innings, allowing two hits, one run (unearned), and striking out eight batters on his way to his first win of the season. Dylan Unsworth (3-1) got the loss for Pulaski pitching three and a third innings allowing six runs on 10 hits.

The Pulaski Mariners will take the field tomorrow for their final game of this home stand as they look to avoid the sweep. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
