(Rochester, NY)-Rochester Brigade WR/DB Derek Baker has been named the arenafootball2 league's IRONMAN, respectively for week 14, acknowledging his performance in last week's 55 to 38 victory over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers.

Baker, who is coming off of a serious concussion that he suffered four weeks ago against the Pioneers, returned to action on June 29, after being cleared by the team doctor. Prior to being given a clean bill of health, Baker passed a series of tests late Friday, before suiting up for Saturday night's game.

In his return, Baker dominated the field as he caught four passes for 61 yards with two touchdowns, rushed the ball twice for eight yards and another score, returned four kickoffs for 95 yards including a long of 47 yards and contributed three solo tackles on the night.

Since Baker joined the Brigade in early May, the team has won four out of the five games he played in with the only loss coming in the game he was injured. During those four games, Baker contributed 37 passes for 447 yards with 12 touchdowns and rushed the ball five times for 19 yards and two scores. Baker has also returned 13 kickoffs for 195 yards and registered 16 tackles (14 solo), one interception and four pass breakups. Baker was named Game IRONMAN on three occasions this season, in five games.

You can catch Baker in action this week by tuning into JC DeLass on WASB 1590 AM, WRSB, 1310 AM and WMJQ 105.5 FM, as the Brigade makes a run for that final playoff spot in the Northeast Division. This week team travels to Roanoke, Virginia, to face the Steam on Saturday, July 6, for a 7:30 pm kickoff.
