Weekly Honors Go To The Beacons

Port Huron, MI – Chris MacKenzie and Bujar Amidovski of the Port Huron Beacons in the UHL (United Hockey League) were named Sher-Wood United Hockey League Player/ Goaltender of the Week for October 14th through October 21st.

MacKenzie finished the week with eight points (4 goals and 4 assists) in three games. He started with two goals in the 4-1 win on Friday against the Adirondack IceHawks. On the Beacons first road trip, he had two assists in the 5-0 shut out win against the Elmira Jackals on Saturday. MacKenzie to finish the weekend scored two goals and two assists in the 5-2 win against the Fort Wayne Komets. MacKenzie leads the league in points with 12 and with most goals scored at 7.

Amidovski completes the week with a record of 1-0, a 2 GAA, and a 0.960 save percentage. He started the week in Elmira on the Beacons first road trip, where he had the first shut out win (5-0) of the 2002-2003 UHL (United Hockey League) season. Amidovski came into Sunday's game against the Fort Wayne Komets after Kory Cooper left 2:86 into the second injured. He completed the game and held onto the win only allowing two goals past.
