Opposite Directions:
Both teams are headed in opposite directions as of late. Amarillo is 1-8-1-0 in their last ten and on a six-game winless streak, dropping their latest games against the Ice Wolves, Brahmas, and IceRays.
The Warriors are 7-2-1-0 in their last ten, with their previous win coming on the road against the Odessa Jackalopes with a 5-1 score and splitting the weekend series one game apiece. The Warriors have had good fortune against the Wranglers this season, winning all four games they've played against each other.
Top Prospects:
Both teams have several nominees selected to the NAHL Top Prospect Tournament, held February 7th and 8th in Pittsburgh, PA. Logan Cleary, Michael Spinner, and Dominic Schimizzi will represent the Wranglers. Wichita Falls will send Phillip Tornqvist and Joseph Harguindeguy, who will be wearing black for the South Division. Defenseman Owen Dyer will also be going to the Top Prospect Tournament, but he will be wearing white as he made the "Select" team.
Amarillo's head coach, Harry Mahood, has been announced as the assistant coach for the South Division.
Special Teams:
Both teams are in the top-5 in power-play percentage, with Amarillo sitting 3rd in the NAHL at 25 percent. Wichita Falls are 5th at 23.9 percent.
The penalty kill is different; Wichita Falls are 26th in the league and have killed off 75.5 percent. Amarillo is 15th in the league, with an 82.1 percent average.
