Week Seven: Players of the Week

The Indoor Football League announced its week seven Players of the Week on Tuesday, June 8, featuring three players earning their first recognitions. Arizona Rattlers quarterback Drew Powell, Green Bay defensive back Bakari Triggs and Bryce Crawford all had standout performances for their teams.

DREW POWELL - OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Arizona quarterback Drew Powell was a threat through the air and on the ground recording a combined 240 yards for the Rattlers' offense in week seven. Powell threw 15-of-22 for 131 yards with one touchdown and an interception, along with 15 rushing attempts for 109 yards and three touchdowns. Powell and Rattlers came out victorious in a tough battle against the Green Bay Blizzard with a 41-34 win.

BAKARI TRIGGS - DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Green Bay defensive back Bakari Triggs had a standout performance for the Blizzard's defense. Triggs had ten total tackles, all of which were solo, and had one interception late in the first quarter that he returned for 23 yards. Despite Triggs' efforts, the Blizzard fell to the Rattlers, 41-34.

BRYCE CRAWFORD - SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Frisco kicker Bryce Crawford drilled a game-winning field goal at the buzzer for the Fighters to remain the only undefeated team in the IFL. Crawford was 7-of-8 on extra points and had only one field goal from 32 yards out that ultimately sealed the game. Crawford and the Fighters took down the traveling Duke City Gladiators, 58-57.

Powell and the Rattlers will take on the Tucson Sugar Skulls in the IFL Game of the Week on Stadium next week on Saturday, June 12, at 7 p.m. CT. Triggs and the Blizzard will face the Louisville Xtreme and Crawford and the Fighters will match-up with the Massachusetts Pirates on Saturday, June 12, with both set to kick at 6:05 p.m. CT.
