Week Four: Players of the Week

May 18, 2021 - Indoor Football League (IFL) News Release


The Indoor Football League announced it Players of the Week for week five on Tuesday, May 18. Iowa Barnstormers quarterback Daquan Neal earned his first Offensive Player of the Week along with Frisco Fighters defensive back Joel Dullray. Green Bay Blizzard wide receiver Trevon Saunders earned his third Special Teams Player of the Week.

DAQUAN NEAL - OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Iowa quarterback Daquan Neal put on an offensive show in his first game of the 2021 season. Neal threw 16-of-22 for 254 yards and six touchdowns, all coming through the air. Neal's longest touchdown pass came early in the second quarter where he threw a 43-yard strike to wide receiver Andrew Mahoney. Neal also had seven rushing attempts and led the team with 40 yards on the ground.

JOEL DULLRAY - DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Helping his team earn its first win as a franchise, Frisco defensive back Joel Dullray held down the Frisco defense. Dullray had three solo tackles and three assisted for a total of six tackles, along with two interceptions. In the final seconds of the game, Dullray came up with his second interception to seal the Fighters, 36-33, victory over the Shock.

TREVON SAUNDERS - SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Now earning his third Special Teams Player of the Week nod, wide receiver Trevon Saunders was lethal for the kick return unit for the Blizzard once again. Saunders had six returns for a total of 116 yards. Saunders' longest return came early in the first quarter where he took it 44 yards that would eventually set up a field goal.

Neal and the Barnstormers will host the Duke City Galdiators in week five, Dullray and the Fighters will take another road trip to face the Louisville Xtreme and the Blizzard and Saunders will take on the Tucson Sugar Skulls.
