Week 9: Players of the Week

June 22, 2021 - Indoor Football League (IFL) News Release


The Indoor Football League announced the Week Nine Players of the Week on Tuesday, June 22. Spokane Shock quarterback Charles McCullum earned Offensive Player of the Week for the second week straight, Bismarck Bucks defensive back Deion Carter named Defensive Player of the Week and Massachusetts Pirates kicker Josh Gable took Special Teams Player of the Week.

CHARLES MCCULLUM - OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Spokane Shock quarterback Charles McCullum earned his second in back-to-back weeks Offensive Player of the Week honors. McCullum could hardly miss a pass completing 86.6 percent of his passes on 13-15 from the pocket for 164 yards. McCullum also ignited the offense with six total touchdowns in his last outing against the Northern Arizona Wranglers, five through the air and one on the ground.

DEION CARTER - DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Bismarck Bucks defensive back Deion Carter led the defensive front against the Blizzard, which held Green Bay 29 points in the game. Carter chalked up eight total tackles, six tackles solo, along with a forced fumble and recovery on the opening kickoff, which would set up the Bucks for their first touchdown of the game.

JOSH GABLE - SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Massachusetts Pirates kicker Josh Gable earned his first Special Teams Player of the Week recognition of the year after drilling 46-yard field goal to win it over the Tucson Sugar Skulls. Gable connected on all three of his field goal attempts and all four of his extra point attempts.

McCullum and the Shock will prepare for the Arizona Rattlers for their week ten matchup while Carter and the Bucks will hit the road to take on the Sioux Falls Storm. All the games are set to kickoff on Saturday, June 22, you can watch all the games live here.
