The Indoor Football League announced the Week Nine Players of the Week on Tuesday, June 15. All three recipients earned their first weekly award of the 2021 season with Spokane Shock quarterback Charles McCullum being named Offensive Player of the Week, Arizona Rattlers linebacker Ricky Wyatt with Defensive Player of the Week and Bismarck Bucks wide receiver Mike Carrigan taking Special Teams Player of the Week.

CHARLES MCCULLUM - OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Spokane quarterback Charles McCullum was pinpoint in the passing game for the Shock's offense completing 79.1 percent of his passes. McCullum threw 19-of-24 for 206 yards and four touchdowns, and also had four rushing attempts for 33 yards and one touchdown to lead the team. With 23 seconds remaining in the second quarter, McCullum threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Karmin Solomon to give the Shock a 24-16 lead heading into halftime. That momentum would carry into the second half as Spokane outscored Sioux Falls 26-16 and would go on to win, 50-32.

RICKY WYATT JR. - DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Arizona linebacker Ricky Wyatt Jr. led the way for the Rattlers' defense to contain Tucson's offense. Wyatt Jr. had nine total tackles, eight of which were solo, and got to the quarterback twice, recording a sack and a safety. Early in the first quarter, the Sugar Skulls found themselves pinned back at their own four-yard line and Wyatt Jr. capitalized, sacking the quarterback in the endzone for a safety to extend Arizona's lead to 9-0. Wyatt Jr. and the Rattlers would go on to win 44-34.

MIKE CARRIGAN - SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Bismarck wide receiver Mike Carrigan provided a spark for the Bucks with a big return on the special teams unit. Carrigan had three kickoff returns for 102 total yards and one touchdown. With 2:44 left in the first half, Carrigan scooped the kickoff from the back wall and took it the length of the field for a touchdown to stop a 15-0 run from the Barnstormers and extend the Bucks lead, 27-15. Bismarck would go on to build a comfortable lead in the second half, defeating Iowa, 53-22.

McCullum and the Shock will prepare for their second meeting with the Northern Arizona Wranglers while Wyatt Jr. and the Rattlers will hit the road to face the Duke City Gladiators. Carrigan and the Bucks are set to take on the Green Bay Blizzard in their third meeting of the season. All the games are set to kickoff on Saturday, June 19, you can watch all the games live here.
