JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Armada FC announced on Monday it will broadcast its U.S. Open Cup match with MLS side Orlando City SC at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Jacksonville University's Southern Oak Stadium live locally on CW17 and on ArmadaFC.com. Coverage, handled by Cole Pepper (play-by-play) and Mauricio Ruiz (color), will begin just before the game kicks off.
Billed as the most important match in club history, the Armada will face off against its closest intrastate rival in the nation's oldest annual knockout competition that is open to all amateur and professional soccer teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer and recognized as U.S. Soccer's national club championship. The winner will move on to the tournament's round of 16 and play again on June 29. The U.S. Open Cup champion will receive a berth in the CONCACAF Champions League.
Jacksonville defeated Orlando City, 2-1, on Feb. 13 in a preseason friendly in Jacksonville.
Tickets are on sale now and cost $17 in advance and $20 the day of the match at the Southern Oak Stadium box office beginning at 3 p.m. Fans can buy tickets in advance by calling 1.844.2.ARMADA or visiting armadafc.com/us-open-cup-tickets-.
