We Want Some " Moore" Of That

March 28, 2006 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
Tri-Cities Fever News Release

Kennewick, WA - After being cut before the first game of the 2005 season, then being brought back to the team after Coach Whitsett took over three weeks into the season, Running Back Paris Moore made a statement during the Tri-Cities Fever home opener on March 24 against the Billings Outlaws. Earning the Ashley Bertch Group MVP of the Game honors, Tri-Cities will see " Moore" out of Paris.

Moore , a product of the University of Minnesota-Morris, holds the school's single season rushing record with 1,492 yards. He was selected to play in the 2002 Cactus Bowl as well as receiving All-American, All-Region and All-Conference honors. Despite Moore's personnal success his team at Minnesota-Morris never won a game during his two seasons there (0-22).

Moore plays football year round. Since 2003 he has played in the competitive Mid-American Football League.

After his return to the team in 2005, he was instrumental in the Fever's success in capturing the NIFL Indoor Bowl V National Championship. As a running back he provided a change of pace while backing up starter Jarvis Dunn. But it was on Special Teams where Moore shined. He became the top tackler on the kick-off team and performed duties on every Special Team unit. As a member of the Fever, Moore experienced his first ever winning season.

In 2006 Paris will be taking on a much larger role in the Fever's running game as Jarvis Dunn moves over to receiver and the window of opportunity opens for Moore. It was clear in the Fever's season opener that Moore was ready for more. More playing time at running back. He exploded out of the backfield for 56 yards and 2 touchdowns while catching and additional 4 passes for 51 yards.

When asked what Tri-Cities can expect from him this season, "More of a power running game."
