WCHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
John Spoltore, San Diego Gulls

John Spoltore of the San Diego Gulls earns Player of the Week honors after scoring three goals and five assists in three games last week. Spoltore leads the WCHL in point scoring with 109 points, including a league-leading 80 assists. The first year Gull ranks second among WCHL players with a +28 plus/minus rating and is within one goal of reaching the 30-goal mark for the fourth time in his career. He enters play this week on a 13 game point scoring streak that has seen him score 32 points. Last week Spoltore established a new San Diego record for assists in a season, surpassing Mark Stitt's mark of 75 established during the 1996-97 season. Spoltore netted three assists in a 6-1 win over Tacoma on Saturday, a goal and an assist in a 6-3 loss to Tacoma on Sunday, and two goals and an assist in a 5-3 loss to Bakersfield.

WCHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK
Luciano Caravaggio, Bakersfield Condors

Luciano Caravaggio of the Bakersfield Condors earns Goaltender of the Week honors after posting wins over the Colorado Gold Kings and Long Beach Ice Dogs. Caravaggio made 28 saves in his first shutout of the season, a 6-0 decision over Colorado on Tuesday. He followed that performance with a 33-save effort in a 4-3 shootout win over Long Beach on Friday. In the shootout period, Caravaggio stopped all four of the Long Beach attempts to secure the victory for Bakersfield. Caravaggio leads WCHL goaltenders with a .889 save percentage in shootouts this season. For the week, Caravaggio was 2-0-0 with a 1.50 goals against average and a .953 save percentage.
