Wave United Training Camp Set to Begin Today

(Milwaukee, WI) Milwaukee Wave United, the Wave's A-League (outdoor) club will begin preparations for the upcoming season when it starts training camp today, Monday, April 21 at 4PM at Uihlein Soccer Park, 7101 W. Good Hope Rd. on Milwaukee's northwest side. Following today's practice, the club will conduct regular workouts at Uihlein at 5PM. The team will have less than a month to get ready for its A-League opener, which will take place on Friday, May 16, 7:05 PM at Uihlein against the Minnesota Thunder.
Also highlighting Wave United's opening weekend at Uihlein Soccer Park is an exhibition game on Sunday, May 18, 4:05 PM against the defending champions of Major League Soccer (MLS), the Los Angeles Galaxy. The Galaxy, one of the most successful teams in MLS history, feature a star-studded lineup that includes long-time U.S. National team members Cobi Jones and Alexi Lalas, high-scoring forward Carlos Ruiz, former MVP Alex Pineda Chacon, and former Rampage goalkeeper Dan Popik. It's the first time that Coach Sigi Schmid and his club will be making an appearance in Milwaukee.
"I'm excited about the personnel that we've been able to assemble in such a short time frame," said Wave United Head Coach Art Kramer. "We look forward to starting our pre-season and the challenge that lies ahead."
Regularly priced tickets for the two games are: $12 / $8 (adult general admission / youth general admission) for the May 16 Minnesota game and all other regular season A-League contests; and $18 / $12 for the May 18 Los Angeles game. A special Wave United Opening Weekend package is available for $25 / $16, with exclusive access to the post-game autograph session on May 18 limited to Opening Weekend package holders.
