Wave United Playoff Tickets to Help Benefit 'Huey Fund'

(Milwaukee, WI) Milwaukee Wave United, the Wave's A-League (outdoor) team announced today that a portion of proceeds from specially discounted tickets for the Friday, September 5 playoff game at Uihlein Soccer Park (7:35 PM v. the Minnesota Thunder) will be donated to the "Huey Fund," a fund that has been established to assist former Rampage star Mike Huwiler with the expenses of his medical treatment and recovery. The Wauwatosa native, who played on the 1992 U.S. Olympic Team before beginning his professional career, was diagnosed with cancer two months ago.

Specially discounted tickets at $12 apiece are available through the Wave Office by calling 414-224-WAVE (9283) and mentioning the "Huey Fund." (Regularly priced tickets are $14.) The game against the arch-rival Thunder is Game One of the two-game total goal series which will conclude on Sunday, September 7, 5:05 PM at the National Sports Center in Blaine, MN.

"Mike is an important figure in the Milwaukee soccer community and we want to do what we can to help this special cause," said Wave Vice-President of Ticket Sales Doug Gole. "This is a great opportunity for Milwaukee fans to see a terrific game and help out the ‘Huey Fund' at the same time."

Wave United wraps-up its regular season this weekend with games at Cincinnati (Friday, August 29, 7:05 PM CDT) and Indiana (Sunday, August 31, 5:35 PM). Both games, like all other Wave and Wave United contests, can be heard on 540 AM, WRRD ("The Word") with air time 20 minutes prior to kick-off.**

**Sunday's game will air on a tape-delayed basis starting at 8 PM.
