GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Nick Vorberg, Milwaukee Wave

Vorberg saved 15 of 20 shots in Milwaukee's 7-5 victory over the Baltimore Blast this past Saturday, October 18, at U.S. Cellular Arena. The goalkeeper saved nine of 10 shots in the second half, shutting the Blast out for the final 27 minutes of the game as Milwaukee recovered from a 5-4 third-quarter deficit. Vorberg, 28, went 9-15 with a 10.70 points against average for the San Diego Sockers in 2002-03; this season, he is 2-0 and ranks second in the League in both goals against average (4.09) and save percentage (.724).

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Chris Morman, Milwaukee Wave

Morman blocked five shots and scored the game-winning goal at 2:30 of the fourth quarter in Milwaukee's 7-5 win over Baltimore on Saturday. Morman, 25, has now scored three goals in his first two games for the Wave. The native of Brentwood, TN, scored 13 goals and blocked 48 shots for the Harrisburg Heat a season ago.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Brian Soell, Kansas City Comets

Soell scored three goals in his first game of the season, leading the Comets to a 10-6 win over Monterrey at Kemper Arena on Saturday night. The 24-year-old forward registered three of Kansas City's final four goals in the contest, including the game-winner at 1:26 of the fourth quarter. Two of his scores came on the power play. Soell, a native of St. Louis, tallied three goals all of last season as a rookie.
