Waskiewicz Named Asst. GM, Adiminstration

Erie Otters General Manager and Managing Partner Sherwood Bassin announced today that E. Shawn Waskiewicz (pictured) has been promoted to the position of Assistant General Manager, Administration.

"I'm excited for the new opportunity and challenges that lie ahead. We have a young, experienced staff that knows how to get the job done. It's going to be an exciting year with new promotions and fan interactive entertainment," Waskiewicz said.

Waskiewicz has been involved as a member of the Erie's sports administration community for the past 10 years. Following his graduation from Edinboro University the 32 year-old Harborcreek native joined the Erie SeaWolves where he was the team's Director of Group Sales. In 2000, he joined the Otters organization, working in several capacities including corporate and ticket sales, community relations and marketing. Prior to the 2005 season Waskiewicz joined Comcast Spectacor and served as an Account Executive with the Philadelphia Flyers. Later that season, he was promoted to Director of Sales for the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League. In May, 2007, he returned to the Otters to accept the position of Director of Sales.

As the Assistant General Manager, Administration Waskiewicz will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Otters organization.

The Erie Otters open their 13th season of competition in the Ontario Hockey League Friday night when they travel to London to meet the Knights in a 7:30 p.m. game at the John Labatt Centre. The game can be heard live on FOX Sports Radio AM 1330 The FAN and on-line at www.ottershockey.com (presented by the James H. Cross Company) beginning with the pre-game show at 7:15 p.m.

Saturday the Otters travel to Plymouth to meet the Whalers in a 7:05 p.m. game that can also be heard live on FOX Sports Radio AM 1330 The FAN and on-line at www.ottershockey.com (presented by the James H. Cross Company) beginning with the pre-game show at 6:50 p.m.

The Otters 2008-09 Home Opener will be played on Saturday, September 27th when the defending OHL Champion Kitchener Rangers visit the Tullio Arena for a 7 p.m. start presented by Taco Bell. Don't miss the pre-game party featuring the Earthquakers presented by Bud Light and a post-game meet-and-greet with the players.
