Washington Stealth News Release
Everett, Wash. - The Washington Stealth in conjunction with the National Lacrosse League today announced the schedule for the 2013 season, which runs from January through April. The Stealth will host six Saturday games (the most Saturday home games in franchise history), starting with the season opener against the defending NLL Champion Rochester Knighthawks on January 5 at the Comcast Arena at Everett.
"With six Saturday games on our home schedule, 2013 will be an incredibly exciting season for our fans," said Stealth President David Takata. "We are going to be aggressive with the enhancement of all facets of our game day experience, from promotions and giveaways to in-game entertainment. It's going to be a special year on and off the floor for the Stealth and its fans."
The Stealth's opening night matchup against Rochester is the first of two meetings between the teams in 2013. The Stealth travels to Rochester on February 2. Washington will travel east just one other time during the season when it faces Philadelphia on March 9 in the first of a home-and-home series with the Wings. The Wings will be at the Comcast Arena for the regular season finale on Saturday, April 20.
In Western Division play, the burgeoning rivalry between the Stealth and Calgary Roughnecks will feature three games, including two at the Comcast Arena on Saturday, February 23 and Saturday, March 30. The Stealth also hosts the defending Western Division Champion Edmonton Rush (January 20), the Colorado Mammoth (February 9) and the Minnesota Swarm (March 3) in interdivisional action.
