Washington Kastles Stadium Update
July 2, 2008 - World TeamTennis (WTT)
Washington Kastles News Release
The support for the team has been incredible as ticket sales continue to pour into Kastles HQ for all of our matches. Opening night is nearly sold out with less than 100 tickets remaining and all chair back seats have been sold for our July 15th match against the NY Sportimes and John McEnroe. Tickets will only be harder to come by as we get into the season, so make sure to tell your friends and family to purchase their tickets now before it's too late
We are happy to announce that HineslArchstone, the team that will build a spectacular mixed-use development called CityCenterDC on our site, has become an official sponsor of the Kastles. As a result, the official name of our home is now "Kastles Stadium at CityCenterDC".
The stadium was in use for the first time last weekend as 64 players from 13 cities played the Homeless USA Cup of soccer. It was a memorable and inspiring event, underwritten by the Leonsis Foundation, for everyone who attended and culminated in the selection of the team that will represent the US team at the Homeless World Cup.
Kastles staff members are now making the final preparations to the site, including building the court, as World TeamTennis prepares to invade the district! On Monday July 7th at 12 PM, please join us for the official opening of our stadium with Mayor Fenty and then our team's first practice in the stadium. The event is open to the public so stop by during lunch.
Happy Fourth of July and enjoy the final weekend of Wimbledon.
Lets all get pumped for opening night and go Kastles!
