Washington Glory Trade Best to Rockford Thunder

Washington Glory News Release
ASHBURN, VA - Washington Glory President & General Manager Paul Wilson announced a trade today of utility infielder Stephanie Best to the Rockford Thunder in exchange for future undisclosed draft considerations.
"Stephanie has been a strong role player for us," said Wilson. "Since Rockford had more potential for Stephanie to be an everyday starter for their organization, we felt it was a great opportunity for her and she agreed. This season the Washington Glory is blessed with a talented and deep enough bench to allow us to make a trade such as this without weakening our club. Stephanie has been a great team member, and she will be missed. We wish her the very best in the future."
Best signed as a free agent prior to the Glory's inaugural 2007 season and hit for a .277 average collecting 18 hits in 65 at bats. The talented Best found playing time scarce in a star-studded infield featuring National Pro Fastpitch 2007 MVP SS Amber Jackson and sluggers Oli Keohohou and Sara Larquier.
The trade with Rockford is effective immediately. Best will report to Rockford in time for its home series this weekend.
Washington continues their season-long eight-game road trip in Akron Wednesday through Saturday.
