Rockford Thunder News Release

ROCKFORD - Rockford Thunder General Manager Aaron M. Moore announced a trade today to bring utility infielder Stephanie Best to Rockford in exchange for future undisclosed draft considerations.

Best, 25, is in her fourth year in the league and is now with her fourth different team. Best is a career .261 hitter and has nine career home runs, including one this season while with the Glory. She also has scored 35 runs in her career and driven in 40.

"We're excited to have a player and person like Stephanie join our ball club," said Moore. "She's a player we've had our eyes on since 2006 and we feel she will make an immediate impact with our team."

The trade with Washington is effective immediately. Best will be in Rockford in time for its home series this weekend versus the Netherlands National Team.

As a reminder, the games with the Netherlands will be played at Player's Park in Roscoe, Ill.
