July 16, 2008 - National Pro Fastpitch (NPF)
Washington Glory News Release
Diamond Elite and the 2007 NPF Champion Washington Glory are excited to announce plans to create three Diamond Elite Academy travel softball teams, with the intent to start play this fall. Tryouts will be held in August (dates to be announced). The three elite travel teams, 12U, 14U, and 16U will be based out of the Dulles/Ashburn area.
The Diamond Elite Academy travel softball teams will be under the professional leadership of the Washington Glory coaching staff. 2007 NPF Coaching Staff of the year Glory Head coach Carie Dever-Boaz & assistant coach Erin Goettlicher will lead the overall player development. In this capacity, Carie and Erin will evaluate and structure practice and training curriculum for the players and their coaching staff.
The mission of the Diamond Elite Academy Teams is to compete at the highest levels of amateur softball while developing fully rounded players who exhibit character, integrity and elite athletic performance. It is Diamond Elite's vision to take good, dedicated athletes and help develop them to their maximum potential, and ultimately to create strong Division One scholarship prospects.
To that end, the organization will seek players that will work year-round, training both outdoors and at the Diamond Elite indoor training academy in Dulles, Virginia. Diamond Elite features state-of-the art -equipment including the Right View Pro Video Analysis System. Of the moment technology, coupled with training by our champion staff (including many of the Washington Glory players and coaches) will allow us to produce a very special organization with an emphasis on an elite training environment.
The next step in our process is to identify potential head coaching staff for each of these three teams. If you have at least five years of playing and/or coaching experience and you feel that your vision may align with ours, please contact us and make your interest known. We'll be contacting our potential coaches the week of July 14 through July 20 to set up a time to discuss our program and your interest and qualifications.
Please email me directly at paul@washingtonglory.com summarizing your playing and/or coaching experience, and what age group you'd be interested in leading. This is a confidential search and your interest and identity will be kept confidential.
