BOYDS, MD (Aug. 4, 2010)...Washington Freedom is proud to celebrate the U.S. Coast Guard's 220th birthday tomorrow during their August 4 home match against Philadelphia Independence. As a partner of Women's Professional Soccer, the Coast Guard and Freedom will host several special activities including half-priced tickets for military and government personnel.

Presented by Citi, the game will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. at the Maryland SoccerPlex with a special Coast Guard Color Guard presentation. To celebrate this milestone, Freedom will offer military and government personnel (with valid military identification) a special priced general admission ticket for only $10 (half off a regular priced ticket).

"Washington Freedom is appreciative of the support the Coast Guard has provided for WPS, and we are excited to be able to celebrate this special day with them here at the Soccerplex," said Mark Washo, President and General Manager for Washington Freedom. "We hope those in the greater Washington, DC area come out in support of these men and women and the sacrifice they make a daily basis while enjoying a great evening of soccer."
