Cheyenne, WY - The Cheyenne Warriors have added two outstanding players to their roster for the 2013 season. Joining the team are LB Mike Johnson, North Alabama, and WR Greg Betterson, Delta State.
LB Mike Johnson played in 49 games and 44 starts while at North Alabama. In his collegiate career, Johnson has amassed 365 tackles (172 solo), 31.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks,five interceptions, 9 passes defended, forced 6 fumbles, and recovered four fumbles. The Panama City, Florida native received the Ron Lenz Defensive National Player of the Year Award, the Gulf South Conference Defensive Player of the Year Award, and the Daktronics Super Region 2 Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2009. Johnson played with the Kansas City Chiefs (NFL) in 2010 and also spent time with the Seattle Seahawks (NFL), and BC Lions (CFL).
WR Greg Betterson played two seasons at Minnesota West Community College appearing in two championship games, and played two seasons at Delta State. While at Delta State, the team won two Conference Championships. In 2008, Betterson had his break out season catching 45 passes for 639 yards while scoring 12 touchdowns. Betterson also spent time with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (CFL).
2013 will be the Cheyenne Warriors' first year in the Indoor Football League (IFL). They will play their home games at Cheyenne Ice and Events Center located in Cheyenne, WY.
