Warriors' Season Ends with Heartbreaking Loss
August 5, 2003 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
Utah Warriors News Release
The Utah Warriors suffered a heartbreaking loss at the hands of the Ohio Valley Greyhounds by a score of 37 to 45. It was a game in which the Warriors knew they didn't play to the best of their ability and yet managed to keep the game close, but in the end it was merely too little, too late.
"They (Ohio Valley) played the better game on this particular day, that's all there is to it" said Coach Lee Leslie after the game. "It's tough to loose and this loss will be difficult to overcome, but it doesn't take anything away from what these guys and this team has achieved this season. The season was a huge success and we are looking forward to next year," he added.
The Warriors finished the season with both Pacific West Division and Pacific Conference titles and an impressive final record of 13 and 4. The team won 7 of 8 home games, lead the league in scoring at nearly 60 points a game and was third in league attendance averaging just over 6,500 fans per game.
Season ticket renewals for current ticket holders will be available by the end of this week and new season tickets will be on sale shortly after. For ticket information call 973-7311 or visit www.utahwarriors.com.
