When you're at the top of the mountain everyone else is trying to knock you off! The Utah Warriors are holding strong to their first place spot atop the Pacific West Division. With a record of 8 and 1, the home field playoff advantage is nearer than ever. However, the Storm have played some of their best ball of the season over the past few games. They've played well enough to be sitting in second place with a record of 6 and 4. Coach Lee Leslie is confident that his team is ready for the challenge. "The team is looking great and the guys are fired up to play" said Coach Leslie.
Utah is strengthening the team in preparation for the end of the season and playoffs. Bart Amundson has recently been signed on at Linebacker. Amundson is 6'2'', 250 lbs; he played his college ball at Southern Utah University. Also, Cody Weight was signed this week. Weight is a 6'1'' 180 lb Defensive Back, from the University of Utah. On the down side, Shawn Kojima will be sitting out the rest of the 2003 season, due to injury.
