Warriors Add Five Forwards and Defenseman in 2013 NAHL Draft

FLINT,MI - With only two over-aged players from last years roster, the Michigan Warriors looked to bolster an already strong returning class during June 4th's NAHL draft.

In the first round, the Warriors picked sixth overall and took forward Alec Pellegrino. Pellegrino is a 1995 birth year, who spent his 2012-13 season with the St. Louis Amateur Blues U18 team of the MWEHL. Pellegrino had 34 points in 35 games including 112 minuets in penalties. The 6'0, 194 lbs. Pellegrino is a native of Swansea, IL.

After not picking in the second round, the Warriors took defenseman David Hopfer (95) in the third round, 53rd overall. The 6'0, 174 lbs. Defenseman is a native of Buffalo, NY and played his midget hockey for his hometown, Buffalo Jr. Sabers.

The Warriors also made a splash in the fifth round when they drafted Scott Cuthrell from the Cleveand Jr. Lumberjacks of the NA3HL. Cuthrell, an over-ager, lead the NA3HL in scoring last season with 88 points in 46 games, averaging 1.9 points per game. Cuthrell is a native of Waterford, MI.

The Warriors rounded out their 2013 draft by picking forward Robert Smythe (94) from the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals, forward Jeff Beck (94) from the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers, and forward Connor Millard (93) from the Peoria Mustangs of the NA3HL.
