Berger and Rumph have both been key members of the Knights over the past two seasons. Berger has seen preseason action in the AFL before, participating in training camps with the Grand Rapids Rampage and the Carolina Cobras; while this will be Rumph's first appearance at an AFL camp.

Berger (6-3, 295, New Mexico State) started 38 consecutive games for the Knights during the 2002 and 2003 seasons. Berger, an offensive/defensive lineman, recorded 21.5 tackles (16 solo), four tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles in his career with the Knights. Rumph, an offensive specialist, recorded back-to-back seasons with over 100 receptions and 1,000 yards receiving. Last season, Rumph was named to the All-af2 First Team as a special teams selection and was named the Macon Knights Most Valuable Player.
