VooDoo beat Desperados, 53-51

The VooDoo (5-1), aided by two key second half interceptions and one defensive stop, extended their club-record win streak to five with a 53-51 victory over the Dallas Desperados (4-2) in front of a crowd 14,281 fans at the American Airlines Center.

The VooDoo held the Desperados to only 212 yards as they forced three Dallas turnovers. DS Alvin Porter was named ADT Defensive Player of the Game for an effort where he recorded two tackles and a key third quarter interception. OL/DL B.J. Cohen had a sack, putting him in a tie for the league lead with five.

VooDoo QB Andy Kelly was 23-of-40 for 258 yards with six touchdown passes and one interception. Kelly now has 658 career TD passes, surpassing New York QB Aaron Garcia, who currently has 655. Garcia's Dragons will play Sunday.

VooDoo WR/LB Thabiti Davis had nine receptions for 98 yards with three touchdowns, while adding two tackles on defense. OS Aaron Bailey had eight catches for 120 yards with two touchdowns.

The loss was the first at home this season for the Desperados.

The VooDoo will return home to host the Orlando Predators in a crucial Southern Division matchup next Sunday (2 pm CT) in the New Orleans Arena.
