New Orleans VooDoo News Release
NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans VooDoo have acquired defensive lineman Anthony Rashad White and former San Antonio Talons wide receiver David Little, announced the VooDoo front office Tuesday evening.
Little (6-3, 190, Midwestern State) enters his second season as a wide receiver in the Arena Football League. In 2014, as a rookie, Little hauled in 12 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns in five games for the Talons. Little wrapped up his collegiate career at Midwestern State as the program's all-time leading receiver with 169 receptions. The Louisiana native ranks second in MSU history with 2,222 career receiving yards and 19 receiving touchdowns. Little was named the Lone Star Conference Receiver of the Year in 2011.
"David is big receiver who runs good routes and has good ball skills," said Head Coach Dean Cokinos. "David had an excellent college career, and he is a smart, tough, hard nosed player. I really like the perseverance he has shown over the years. This is a good opportunity for David to come in and be a contributor to our team."
Little spent time in camp with the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League in 2013.
White (6-3, 332, Michigan State) enters his rookie season with the Arena Football League. Before turning pro, White was a three-year letter winner who saw action in 39 games on the defensive front.
He collected 65 career tackles including six for loss (16 yards). In 2012, White blocked a field goal attempt by Georgia in triple overtime to help Michigan State defeat the Bulldogs in the 2012 Outback Bowl.
"Anthony is a big, athletic man," said VooDoo Head Coach Cokinos. "He was a highly rated NFL free agent coming out of Michigan State, and he ended up with the New England Patriots. He can really push the middle of the pocket on defense and, for us, that is vital to a good pass rushing unit. We are very excited to get him in New Orleans."
White spent time with the New England Patriots of the NFL as a free agent in 2013.
