
VooDoo Add Defensive Lineman Jonathan Simmons

NEW ORLEANS (July 12, 2012) - The New Orleans VooDoo were assigned defensive end Jonathan Simmons, announced the front office on Thursday afternoon.
Simmons (6'3" 260 lbs. Wingate) is in his first season of playing professional football, and takes over the active roster spot for defensive lineman Brian Johnston, who was placed on injured reserve.
Simmons enjoyed a stellar two-year career at Wingate, recording 6.5 sacks and 19.5 tackles for a loss. Simmons spent his first two collegiate seasons at Joliet Junior College (Joliet, Ill.) before transferring to Wingate.
The Manhattan, Ill. native will wear No. 3 for the VooDoo.
