
Philadelphia's Ross Voted Week 18 National Guard MVP

CHICAGO - Philadelphia Soul FB DERRICK ROSS has been named National Guard MVP of the Week for his performance in Week 18 of the AFL season, as voted on by fans.
Ross (6-0, 250, Tarleton State) rushed for 83 yards and three touchdowns in Philadelphia's 62-48 victory over the Spokane Shock (8-8) in Week 18. Ross also caught two passes for 27 yards, both of which went for scores. Ross has scored a rushing touchdown in all 15 games played this season and leads the League with 133 rushes for 564 yards and 30 touchdowns.
Other candidates for the award included Orlando Predators WR Jarvis Williams and Tampa Bay Storms WR Joe Hills.
The Soul (14-3) have a bye in Week 19, but will be back in action next week to close out the regular season against the Utah Blaze (11-5) on Sunday, July 22. The game can be seen on Ustream's "AFL Live" Viewer. Kickoff is set for 6:05 p.m. ET.
