Atlanta Vision News Release

SUWANEE, GA - February 23, 2007 - Atlanta Vision, Atlanta's professional basketball team in Gwinnett visited students at Sharon Elementary in Forsyth County to read books and help promote "Read Across America." Second and third graders were excited and attentive while the larger than life basketball players entered the classrooms. Media specialist, Laura Thornton states, "It is treat to see the smiles and joy from these students as the players were reading and signing autographs."

One second grader proclaimed, "This is the best day of my life!" Vision players also passed out sport cards with free coupons for the kids to enjoy Sharon Elementary Family Night with the Vision this Sunday, February 25th at 6:30pm.

"Atlanta Vision is also committed to serve and build a healthier community through outreach," explains Vision Director of Community Outreach Lisa Patterson. "Our players reading and interacting with the students is beneficial for both."

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
