Vipers partner with Grand Home Furnishings for season long coat and blanket drive

ROANOKE, VA - The Roanoke Valley Vipers, member of the United Hockey League (UHL), are partnering with Grand Home Furnishings for the entire 2005-06 hockey season to hold a coat and blanket drive, which will directly benefit the Roanoke Rescue Mission.
Grand's has been involved with the Roanoke Rescue Mission for 50 years, and the Vipers are proud to assist them in reaching those in need in the Roanoke Valley. "The recent devastations in the Gulf and around the world further justify our need to continue helping those less fortunate in our own community and beyond," said Steve Davis, the Director of Advertising for Grand Home Furnishings. "Grand's Relationship with the Roanoke Valley Vipers gives all of us the opportunity to show our generosity. We are confident that the good hearts of all those in the Roanoke area will help make this blanket and coat drive a success."
Drop boxes for the drive will be located at various locations around the concourse area at the Roanoke Civic Center during all Vipers home games this season. The Vipers are asking all fans to think of their neighbors in need and contribute to the drive. New or gently used items will be accepted.
"Involvement in the community is just as much a part of our business as selling tickets or winning hockey games," said Kristen Dixon, owner and governor of the Vipers. "We are proud to support community outreach programs like the coat and blanket drive with our corporate partners."
The Vipers will host their division rivals the Richmond RiverDogs for a pair of games this weekend on Friday and Saturday, November 4th and 5th!
