
Vipers Assigned First Two for 2002-03 Season

Huntsville, AL- The 2003 Tennessee Valley Vipers season is still five months away, yet head coach Kevin Guy is already busy putting the team together. The Vipers were assigned their first two members by the af2 league office today.
Defensive back, Demetrius Patterson, and wide receiver, Tavirus Davis, become the first members of the 2003 Vipers.
Patterson (5-11, 185) played in four games for the Vipers last season as a wide receiver/defensive back. He recorded 7.5 tackles and three-pass break ups and caught two passes for 22 yards. He originally signed as a defensive specialist. He was a two-year letterman at Delta State and a two-year letterman at Nicholls State.
Davis (6-2, 190) had a standout career at Central Florida from 1997-2001. He finished his career with 116 receptions for 1,474 yards and nine touchdowns, including 47 receptions for 722 yards and five touchdowns as a senior. He caught five passes for 34 yards in the Golden Knights upset of Alabama in 2000. He is originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
