
Vipers announce "Name the Mascot" contest

ROANOKE, VA â The Roanoke Valley Vipers, member of the United Hockey League, will ask fans to step forward and submit entries for their "Name the Mascot" contest, which will begin on June 6th.
The Viper mascot will be a "cuddly, kid-friendly snake," explains owner Kristen Dixon. "Our mascot will be out and about in the community as much as possible, and we want a mascot and a name that will embody family and fun, which is what we will provide for our fans year round."
The contest will begin June 6th and run through June 24th, with the winning entry scheduled to be announced on June 30th. Fans of all ages are encouraged to submit their suggestions, and a variety of entry methods will be available. A downloadable entry form will be available on the United Hockey League website at www.theuhl.com. Entry forms will be accepted by mail or fax, or entries may be submitted by email to awebb@valleyvipershockey.com. The fan who submits the winning entry will receive four Vipers season tickets for the 2005-2006 season.

The Vipers website is currently under construction, but fans are encouraged to check for updates in the coming weeks at www.valleyvipershockey.com. Vipers season tickets are on sale now and good seats are going fast. Seat reservations can be made by calling the Vipers front office at (540) 345-PUCK (7825).
