Roanoke Valley Vipers News Release
ROANOKE, VA â The Roanoke Valley Vipers, member of the United Hockey League, are proud to introduce Amy Webb and Jae McCadden as the first additions to the front office staff of the newly relocated franchise. Webb will handle media and public relations for the Vipers. Her main focus will be arranging and facilitating player and mascot appearances within the community, including school visits, community events, and appearances at the workplaces of corporate partners.
Webb brings with her two years of front office experience in minor league professional hockey. She is the founder and executive director of Opportunity Through Baseball, Inc., a nonprofit organization which collects and distributes baseball equipment to underprivileged children throughout the Americas and the Caribbean. She is a member of the Association of Women in Sports Media (AWSM), and is an avid Baltimore Orioles fan. Webb is currently completing her degree in Business Administration at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia.
McCadden, son of former Roanoke City Councilman Mac McCadden, will act as an account executive for the team, and will focus on establishing and maintaining relationships with corporate partners and ticket holders. Jae graduated from Shenandoah University in 2004 with a degree in Kinesiology. He brings a year of front office and game-presentation experience in minor league sports with him to the Vipers. The Roanoke native played Valley Youth Travel Team Hockey for 13 years, and played four years of college baseball. McCadden is an active volunteer and supporter of the Children's Miracle Network, and began a Roanoke-based mentor program for underprivileged kids and athletes in 2004.
"I'm really pleased with the level of enthusiasm and dedication Amy and Jae have shown," said owner and team president Kristen Dixon, "not only within our organization, but throughout the community."
