Vipers Add Two LaRaZa Players to Team, Invite 5 from Tryouts to Camp

(Omaha) - The Omaha Vipers added two players from the league champions - LaRaZa of Monterrey, Mexico and invited five of the participants of last weekend's open tryouts to join the team in camp.

Victor Quiroz - a technical and tough 5'9" midfielder from Mexico City plays as well on offense as he does on defense. Quiroz played for Monterrey's Furia team for 3 years prior to joining LaRaZa for the past 3 years. Ranked 28 in the league, he scored 24 goals in the 2009 season including a goal in the championship game.

Joseph Bontti, 6'3" goalkeeper from San Nicholas, Argentina joins the team in camp on October 25th. Ranked the #3 goalie in the league in 2009, he played 943 minutes during the season including an outstanding championship game, bringing home the title.

In addition, Brian Newland, Nedim Hasanbegovic, Joshue Miller, Emanuel Viel, Sam Eid and Eduardo Suarez, who participated in the open tryouts, September 25 and 26 have been invited to camp for the opportunity to have one more shot at making the team.

This brings the total players signed to 7 of the possible 18 slots to fill before camp begins. "The caliber of players I have to choose from has been tremendous," said head coach, Marcelo Fontana. "It's a good problem to have".

The Omaha Vipers are the MISL's newest franchise and will begin play November 21, 2010 vs. Missouri (Kansas City) Comets at 3:05pm at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. Season tickets are now on-sale at 402.932.3335 or on-line at www.omahavipers.com . The 12 game package can be purchased for $96 up to $216. A twenty-five dollar (per ticket) deposit will hold your tickets until November 1st.
