
Vince Marrow Returns As Tight Ends Coach For The Omaha Nighthawks

OMAHA, NE - Monday, February 21 - Omaha Nighthawks head coach JOE MOGLIA has announced the return of VINCE MARROW as the team's tight ends coach ahead of the 2011 season.
Marrow served as the Nighthawks tight ends coach in their inaugural season of 2010. Omaha tight ends Jeb Putzier and Christian Hopkins combined for 26 catches for 234 yards and three touchdowns, all by Putzier, which tied for the United Football League high.
"I am delighted to return to Omaha where the Nighthawks fans made us feel very welcome and created a fantastic atmosphere at our games," said Marrow. "Working with Joe Moglia and the Nighthawks coaching staff is an exciting prospect."
Marrow played with the Buffalo Bills from 1992 to 1995 and was a member of two of the Bills' Super Bowl teams where he his position coach was Nighthawks Offensive Line coach Don Lawrence. He was an 11th round draft pick of the Bills in 1992 and caught five passes for 44 yards in 10 games in 1994. He also played two seasons with the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe (1997-1998), earning first-team all-NFLE honors in 1998. He was with the Carolina Panthers (1996), New York Jets (1997-98), Chicago Bears (1999) and San Francisco 49ers (1999) before finishing his professional playing career with the Orlando Rage of the XFL in 2001.
Marrow came to Omaha in 2010 after spending the 2009 season as the head coach of Springfield (Ohio) High School. In 2008, he served as the tight ends coach at the University of Toledo, his alma mater having spent three seasons coaching tackles and tight ends for the Berlin Thunder and Rhein Fire of the NFL Europe League.
"Vince did an outstanding job last year and we are excited to have him back with the Nighthawks in 2011," said Coach Moglia.
Marrow finished his collegiate career at Toledo in 1991, where he earned second-team all-Mid-American Conference honors, after starting at Youngstown State. He graduated from Toledo with a degree in Criminal Justice.
Marrow has also worked at summer camps at Ohio State and in the state of Florida and has coached middle school football in Gahanna, Ohio.
