VidSwap.com Presents the Adam Pringle MVP Award
July 17, 2009 - Indoor Football League (IFL) News Release
Richmond, VA: The Indoor Football League office announced on Monday the results of their online fan vote for the 2009 Most Valuable Player of the Year award. In a close battle, Billings Outlaws Quarterback Chris Dixon edged the competition to take home the honor. Working in conjunction with VidSwap.com, the league office today announced the renaming of the award to honor the memory of Adam Pringle, the late Muskegon Thunder co-owner who was tragically killed in January in a snowmobile accident. "It is such an honor for us that the league thought so highly of Adam to name an award after him," stated parents and Thunder co-owners Don and Julia Pringle. "He was so proud to be part of the IFL, and was excited to watch it grow."
Adam had a passion for life and football. Everywhere he went he touched someone's life and always had something positive to say even about the most negative of experiences or people. He was tenacious, never quit, and when he set goals, nothing got in the way of them. He loved to be involved within the community, and when he committed to anything he did it 100%. No exceptions!
One of those commitments was building a successful pro football team in his hometown of Muskegon, Michigan. When the Pringle family decided to start this team, he was the catalyst behind it all. With the first hand experience of being a player in other leagues, he made sure to pay attention to what worked and what didn't. So when it came time for them to form this team, the Pringle's were confident in Adam's abilities and knowledge.
Adam was a leader on the field as a player and off the field as well. He didn't say much to his teammates about how they should be playing their positions. He showed them by example and brought a level of expectation to practice and the game. His passion and dedication are the very characteristics the IFL values in its players and teams. For these reasons, the league was proud to announce today that the regular season MVP award will now and forever be known as the Adam Pringle Most Valuable Player of the Year Award.
Upon receiving news of his award, Dixon, who was also named the 2009 Offensive Player of the Year, stated that "Winning double awards from the IFL and indoor football fans across the country is more than a great honor as a player; it's also an incredible feeling to know that the hard work we've put in as a team this year is being recognized nationwide. I'm very grateful to the fans, the league and my team for lifting me up with this honor." Many of the same sentiments were felt by other members of the Billings Outlaws. "A great player doesn't become great by accident. True excellence comes from incredible dedication, a passion for the game and a burning desire to reach goals that seem out of reach. Adam Pringle was the embodiment of these fundamentals for higher success and we're honored to see Chris Dixon win an award that is named after a man who believed in winning with integrity and grace," said Outlaws General Manager Adam Steadman.
The league is excited to see Adam Pringle's vision of growing a national league come to fruition. As Dixon's Outlaws and eleven other teams begin their quest for the first ever United Bowl Trophy this weekend, we remember a great player, but even more we remember a great man.
