Victoria, B.C. - The Victoria Royals announced today a new partnership with Catapult Sports, a wearable technology company that exists to build and improve the performance of athletes and teams at all levels of sport.

The partnership will make the Royals the first team to use Catapult's wearable technology in the Canadian Hockey League.

"Being the first organization in the Canadian Hockey League to implement Catapult's wearable technology is a great moment for the Victoria Royals from the perspectives of both player development and competitive advantage," said Royal's Performance Coach & Lead Assistant Trainer Kurtis Freter. "The ability to use this state-of-the-art technology allows us to enhance our player support system as part of our continual commitment to provide our players with the best developmental environment possible.

"It is always the goal to be first and we look forward to working with Catapult to ensure our athletes get the most out of this partnership and continue to allow our players to grow alongside professional processes used in the NHL and AHL."

Catapult's Vector SaaS technology delivers next level accuracy, usability, and efficiency to empower critical athlete performance and tactical decisions. The Vector solution provides an integrated and comprehensive view of performance, in real time, leveraging the latest data science to help players and teams find answers to complex performance questions.

Catapult's technology gives a single source of truth for the performance of every athlete on the ice, no matter the position. This allows for improved team performance and helps prevent overloading.

"We are excited to work with the Victoria Royals, the first Canadian Junior team to implement Catapult's Vector solution for its athletes," said Catapult's Vice President of North America, Blake Tippets. "They join elite hockey teams around the world, including teams from the NHL and the Canadian Women's Ice Hockey Team, who rely on Catapult's performance data and insights to unleash the potential of their athletes. We look forward to working with them for many seasons in the future."

Catapult's North American customers using video technology or wearables also includes the majority of NHL teams.
