Victor Clore Receives CPIFL Defensive Player of the Week Honors

Lawrence, KS - After eight weeks of play in the CPIFL, five teams sit within one game of each other in the battle for fourth place and a playoff spot. The standings are sure to change each week in what has become the most evenly matched indoor football league in the country. Three CPIFL players have been recognized for their performance in Week 8.

Offensive Player of the Week: Andre Raymond, Bloomington Edge

Raymond helped move the Edge into playoff contention as Bloomington defeated Sioux City by a score of 52-43 on Saturday. Raymond averaged 6.2 yards per carry on 16 rushes totaling 100 yards and two rushing touchdowns. Raymond was on the receiving end of another touchdown and caught four passes for 48 yards in the game. Raymond is tied for the league lead in touchdowns scored with 14. Bloomington travels to Lincoln this week looking for their third win in a row.

Defensive Player of the Week: Victor Clore, Oklahoma Defenders

Clore amassed ten tackles in the Defenders' 64-55 victory over the Kansas Koyotes in Week 8. Clore recorded three sacks in the game to bring his total to five for the year. Clore moved into third in the CPIFL in sacks with the performance. Oklahoma will look to continue their march toward the playoffs as they travel to Wichita on Saturday.

Special Teams Player of the Week: Doug Lehman, Sioux City Bandits

Lehman recorded the second most points by a kicker in a game in CPIFL history by scoring 19 points vs. the Edge. Lehman was 5-for-5 on field goals and 4-of-4 on PAT's in the Bandits loss. Lehman scored the Bandits' first nine points in the game with field goals of 41, 46, and 21 yards. He later added field goals of 37 and 23 yards. It was Lehman's first game of the season. Sioux City visits Salina this week in a game with huge playoff implications.

Every game in the CPIFL is sure to have playoff consequences as the regular season comes closer to a conclusion. Week 9 features four games on Saturday night including Sioux City visiting Salina, Dodge City travelling to Topeka to take on the Koyotes, Wichita hosting Oklahoma, and Bloomington travelling to Lincoln.
