Vermont Frost Heaves News Release
South Burlington, Vt.-As they prepare to defend the ABA title they won in their inaugural season, the Vermont Frost Heaves will take on the Atlanta Vision at the Barre Municipal Auditorium on Wednesday, March 19, at 7:05 p.m.
Vermont pinned an 85-71 defeat on the Vision in Georgia last week, but Atlanta held a five-point lead at the half. Since then the Vision have played twice in Halifax, where they split a two-game set with the Rainmen over the weekend.
Like the Frost Heaves, Atlanta has clinched a spot in the ABA Final 8 Championship, which will take place in Quebec City from March 27 through 30.
"As the score of our game in Atlanta indicated, this is a deep and rugged team that promises to give us a real test as we gear up for the playoffs," said Frost Heaves president Alexander Wolff. "The Vision features ex-And1 Mix Tape Star Robert (50) Martin, former Frost Heave Kevin Harrington, and two of the standouts we'll be welcoming to the Aud for ABA All-Star Weekend later this week, B.J. Puckett and Sean Dixon.
"We regret that we won't be hosting any playoff games in Vermont this season. But we and our fans are lucky to have a terrific intersectional match-up like this one to send us off to Quebec."
Tickets are now on sale for the Atlanta game, as well as for ABA All-Star Weekend in Barre, which will take place with Hot Shots and Dunks on Friday, March 21; and the ABA All-Star Classic presented by VESCU on March 22.
Ticket pick-up spots for all three events are Allen Lumber in Barre; First In Fitness in Montpelier; and the Flynn Box Office at 153 Main Street in Burlington. Tickets may also be ordered over the phone or the Web by calling 802-86-FLYNN or going to flynntix.org.
By virtue of their 33-4 record and No. 1 position in the ABA Power Rankings, the Frost Heaves have earned the top seed in the Final 8.
