South Burlington, VT - The Vermont Frost Heaves are pleased to announce the signing of 6'11" Center Justin "Boomer" Herndon for the 2008/2009 PBL season.
Boomer is a native of Nashville, TN and played his college ball at Belmont. In his last full season at Belmont, he played in 33 games and averaged 10.8 points per game, 5.2 rebounds per game and shot 61% from the field.
"Boomer brings some much needed size to our frontcourt. We will be counting on him to provide us with great rebounding and scoring on the low block. He is a young player that has shown steady improvement, and I am eager to see his continued development here", stated Coach Voigt.
Boomer was drafted 85th overall by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBDL in 2008 and chose to play in Romania. He played for CS Otopeni Bucuresti (Romania-Div.A,1T) where he played in 14 games averaging 15.1points per game, 7.6 rebounds per game and shot 68.8% from the field.
