Veltman Honoured with Weekly Award

The National Lacrosse League announced their weekly awards for Week 12 of play yesterday afternoon. Toronto Rock Captain Jim Veltman was awarded both the Overall and Offensive Player of the Week awards.

Veltman led the Toronto Rock with 11 points on 3 goals and 8 assists, and 15 looseballs in two games which saw Toronto win back to back games last weekend. On Friday night against the Rochester Knighthawks, he scored 1 goal and had six assists for seven points and scooped eight looseballs. On Saturday night against the Philadelphia Wings, Veltman picked up 4 points on 2 goals and 2 assists and scooped 7 looseballs.

Last year, Veltman finished the season 3rd overall in Rock scoring, with 59 points on 16 goals and 43 assists. He scooped a league high 207 looseballs and finished 5th overall in NLL power play goals (12).
