
Vancouver's Blasco Named USL Player of the Week

TAMPA, Fla. - Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 midfielder Victor Blasco has been voted the USL Player of the Week for the 16th week of the 2015 season after his two late goals lifted WFC2 to a 3-1 victory against Seattle Sounders FC 2 on Saturday evening.
Blasco earned 67 percent of the vote, which was conducted by a national panel of independent media representing every USL market. Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC's Miguel Gonzalez finished second with 25 percent.
USL Team of the Week
GK - Carl Woszczynski, Arizona United SC: Recorded a new USL season-high with 13 saves as United earned a 2-0 win against Orange County
D - Emmanual Adjetey, Charleston Battery: Was solid defensively and made good attacking runs down the left in the Battery's draw with Rochester
D - Parker Maher, Saint Louis FC: Scored his first goal and made a big goal-line clearance as STL FC took victory in Charlotte
D - Tarek Morad, Louisville City FC: Scored his second goal of the season and was solid defensively as Louisville defeated Richmond
M - Victor Blasco, Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2: Notched two goals in two minutes to lift WFC2 to a late victory against Seattle
M - Fatawu Safiu, Portland Timbers 2: Sparked T2's attack and scored a fine goal to lead his side to victory against Arizona
M - Rob Vincent, Pittsburgh Riverhounds: Continued his outstanding season with another pair of goals as the Riverhounds defeated the Red Bulls II
M - Sam Garza, Seattle Sounders FC 2: Had the opening goal and was a threat throughout as S2 took victory against Portland
F - Matt Fondy, Louisville City FC: Scored a goal and added an assist to lead City to a 3-0 victory against Richmond
F - Miguel Gonzalez, Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC: Scored both goals as the Switchbacks extended their winning streak to six games by defeating Austin
F - Cardel Benbow, Harrisburg City Islanders: Worked hard all game and was rewarded with a late winner in a 1-0 victory against Wilmington
