Utah's revenge! Utah wins in Arkansas 114-110

The Utah Snowbears answered any questions about how good they are, defeating Arkansas 114-110 on the road in Little Rock in front of 7500 fans at the Alltel Arena. Clay Tucker isolated Todd Day with 19 seconds left and the score tied and hit a three point basket from the top of the key to give Utah a 113-110 lead, and Arkansas missed two attempts down the stretch to give Utah their 24th win in 25 games.Dino Tanner got the final free throw to complete the scoring.

The game included 17 lead changes and was tied 10 times, as the two teams battled back and forth for supremacy of the ABA. Utah led early behing 16 first quarter points from Nate Driggers. Jamaal Davis kept the game close with 9 of his own as Utah lead after one quarter 28-24.

Harold Arceneaux got hot in the second and dropped 8 points, while Curtis Millage hit three 3-pointers in the quarter to keep Utah on top. Kareem Reid paced Arkansas with 9, but Millage gave Utah a 12 point lead at the half 46-44.

Arkansas clawed back into the game behind Brandon Dean, who hit four 3-pointers in the period. Reid added 12 points in the period while Todd Day added 7. Clay Tucker got hot and dropped 16 points in the third to keep Utah ahead 87-84. THe fourth quarter was chaotic with hard fouls and superb shots being made. The game was back and forth, with Arkansas taking a four point lead with 2 inutes left behind tow 3's by Jamaal Davis and one by Oliver Miller. Utah answered back with three's from Tucker and Arceneaux, and tied the game at 110. That set up the final play, with Tucker missing off a drive, Driggers getting the offensive rebound, and Utah setting up the isolation play with Tucker against Day. Day hit the big shot against Tucker Thursday, abut tonight was Tuckers day, as he drained a 25 foot three pointer from the top of the key to give Utah the lead for good. Tucker finished with 34 to lead all scorers, while Driggers finished with 29. Arceneaux added 22 and Millage 21 for the 24-1 Snowbears. Reid led Arkansas with 30, followed by Davis with 26 and Day with 17. Arkansas fell to 25-5 with the loss heading into the All Star break in Las Vegas.
