
Utah Royals FC DF Rachel Corsie Named to Scotland Squad for UEFA Euro Qualifying Match against Cyprus

SANDY, Utah - Utah Royals FC DF Rachel Corise has been named to Scotland's roster for its friendly against Cyprus on August 30 in Edinburgh, Scotland, the club announced today. Corsie will join Scotland after Utah Royals FC's match on August 21 at the Washington Spirit.
"Rachel has always played a large role not only for our club but for her country as well," Utah Royals FC General Manager Stephanie Lee said. "For her to receive yet another call to Scotland is a testament to her determination and work ethic for her club and country."
Scotland will aim to qualify for their third consecutive tournament in England for EURO 2021. Scotland will open their campaign against Cyprus before travelling to Albania later this year. They will then play Portugal and Finland home and away in 2020.
Corsie receives the call-up carrying with her 112 appearances for Scotland having scored 16 goals for the senior side. Corsie recently captained Scotland at the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup, Scotland's first appearance at the tournament. She made her senior team debut on May 3, 2009 in a 2-0 loss to France. Thus far in 2019, Corsie has featured in 11 matches - all starts - for URFC in the 2019 National Women's Soccer League season on the backline, totaling 990 minutes while scoring one goal.
Utah Royals FC is back in action on Saturday, August 17 when it visits Orlando Pride at 5:30p MT at Exploria Stadium before a midweek clash at the Washington Spirit on Wednesday, August 21 at 5:30p MT.
