WR Augustine Agyei, another open tryout participant, was given a training camp contract and was later assigned to the 24-man regular season roster.

"Open tryouts are an important aspect of assembling our roster for the upcoming season and we've had great success finding quality prospects throughout the years," said Head Coach Ron James. "This is an opportunity for any player to showcase his talent in front of our entire staff. We're looking for players that are hungry for an opportunity and display the intensity needed to play Arena Football."

The cost of the open tryout is $60 for those who pre-register with payment online and $80 at the door on the day of the event. Check-in will begin at 7:00 a.m. with tryouts starting promptly at 8:00 a.m. Participants are required to sign a waiver form prior to the tryout. The surface at the venue is field turf - participants should wear appropriate shoes and workout attire. All participants will be receive a Utah Blaze tryout t-shirt.

Over the 26-year history of the Arena Football League, many AFL players have been discovered during open tryouts. The ultimate goal of the organization is to find that diamond in the rough. While there is no requirement to have football experience, it is strongly encouraged.
