â¢Sioux Falls' Tom Gorowsky continues to score at a torrid pace. The former No. 1 overall pick recorded three goals and an assist in two Stampede wins last week. Sioux Falls has won five games in a row.
⢠Cedar Rapids picked up a pair of victories over the weekend to remain the USHL's only undefeated team. Sunday's game against Indiana was decided in a shootout on a goal from third-year forward Jon Grabarek who has three points (1G, 2A) in five games.
â¢Omaha's Trevor Smith continues to pace America's Tier I League in scoring with seven goals and seven assists in seven games. Fellow B. C. native Brock Bradford is second in league scoring with five goals and seven assists in seven games. Another Lancer, Minnesota native Corey Carlson is third in league scoring with 11 pts.
⢠Lincoln's Dan Riedel is tied for the league lead in assists thus far with eight. He has yet to record a goal. The aforementioned Carlson also has eight assists.
⢠Second-year Sioux Falls defenseman Nate Prosser has the league's best plus-minus rating thus far: plus-9 through six games.
⢠Chicago has steady goaltending from Tier I rookie Billy has posted a leagueleading 1.48 goals-against average.
USHL Facts........... Attendance continues to be strong in the USHL. The league average is currently 3,076 per game.
LPH/USHL Offensive Player of the Week:
Brandon Harrington -Sioux Falls
Harrington (Rochester MN), named Offensive POW after registering three goals in three wins last week. Harrington had a goal in a 7-4 win over Omah and 2 goals versus Tri-City; Brandon registered a plus/minus rating of +2 on the weekend. On the season, Harrington has four goals and is a plus-4.
LPH/USHL Defensive Player of the Week:
Aleksandrs Jerofejevs - Sioux Falls
Jerofejevs (Riga, Latvia)had 6 points this past week; 3 assists ("playmaker") in 4-0 win @ Tri- City; 4 out of 6 points were on special teams. He also had the overtime game winner in 3-2 win against Sioux City.
